Your Organization has a default managed data catalog named org_catalog for your tables and spatial datasets. Wherobots manages the catalog metadata, and you can read and write its tables with WherobotsDB.

Work with your tables

Catalogs contain databases (also called namespaces), which contain tables. Reference a table as <catalog>.<database>.<table>. For table formats, spatial column types, and upgrading existing geometry tables, see Iceberg tables.

Use your own S3 storage

You can create additional managed catalogs through an S3 storage integration. The data stays in your S3 bucket, and Wherobots manages the catalog metadata. Follow Create a managed catalog from an S3 bucket.
An S3 storage integration uses a general purpose S3 bucket for a Wherobots-managed catalog. To access tables managed by Amazon S3 Tables in a table bucket, connect an external S3 Tables catalog.

Use datasets provided by Wherobots

The wherobots_open_data and wherobots_pro_data catalogs contain datasets that Wherobots prepares and hosts. Browse Wherobots open data to find datasets to use alongside your own tables.

Access your tables from another engine

Managed catalogs expose an Iceberg REST endpoint. See Connect external engines to Wherobots catalogs for compatibility requirements and the Snowflake tutorial.
