Wherobots Cloud has three places to store files. Each one fits a different kind of file.

My Files

My Files is your personal file area, one per region. Your notebook opens in it, and what you save there is kept across session restarts. You can also reach it from the Code page in File Explorer and from the Wherobots CLI. My Files replaces the Wherobots File System. Files in your earlier notebook home folder are not moved into My Files for you; see If you used notebooks before My Files. My Files is private to you. For how My Files works, see File Explorer.

Wherobots Managed Storage

Wherobots provides out-of-the-box, managed storage for your geospatial datasets and Apache Iceberg tables, accessible from your notebooks and jobs with WherobotsDB. You can browse and manage the contents of your Wherobots Managed Storage with the Cloud Storage page in Wherobots Cloud. Wherobots runs the storage infrastructure, so there’s nothing to set up. The Cloud Storage page shows the file and directory structure of your data warehouse on Wherobots Cloud.
Managed Storage
Each account has a private customer-XXXX folder, and the shared folder is open to everyone in your Organization. For the folder layout, permissions, and upload steps, see Managed Storage.

S3 Storage integration

Wherobots’ integration with Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) allows Amazon S3 customers to utilize Wherobots as the spatial engine that operates on their data while still using Amazon S3 for their data storage. You can connect public buckets or your own private buckets. Reads and writes are governed by your AWS IAM permissions, and you keep control of storage, lifecycle policies, and permissions in your AWS account. Data that Wherobots writes to your buckets is available to other applications that use them. If you need to upload large files or more complex folder structures like partitioned Parquet files, or you already keep large datasets in S3, consider integrating your existing S3 Storage buckets. A storage integration is not a catalog. Creating a storage integration connects Wherobots to your S3 bucket, but it doesn’t expose your data as a queryable catalog. To query the data, create a catalog from the bucket in Data Catalogs: click Add Catalog, then choose your storage under Catalog in. See Create a Managed Catalog.

Tables

Tables and datasets in your Organization’s default org_catalog catalog are stored in your Wherobots Managed Storage. Wherobots also provides datasets as tables in the wherobots_open_data and wherobots_pro_data catalogs, which Wherobots manages. You can browse them in Data Catalogs.
