Wherobots is excited to announce support for the AWS ap-south-1 (Mumbai) region. Paid Organizations can now choose to deploy their Wherobots compute environments and manage resources within this popular AWS region.
Deployment in the ap-south-1 (Mumbai) region requires a Professional or Enterprise Organization. Community Edition is limited to us-west-2.See our Pricing Page for more details, or use the links below to get started.

Get started

  • Go to Wherobots Cloud and select AWS ap-south-1 when creating a notebook. Create a notebook in
    the Mumbai Region
  • Set the region parameter to aws-ap-south-1 when using the Job Runs REST API.
  • Set the region parameter to Region.AWS_AP_SOUTH_1 when using the Spatial SQL API.

Benefits of using ap-south-1

Choosing the AWS ap-south-1 region can provide significant advantages depending on your needs:
  • Lower latency: Deploy Wherobots resources closer to your users, data sources, or application endpoints in India and South Asia.
  • Architectural flexibility: Enables building geographically distributed applications by co-locating Wherobots components with your infrastructure or user base concentrated in South Asia.

Key features

  • Region selection: Select ap-south-1 as the deployment region for Job Runs, Notebooks, Airflow Operators, and the Spatial SQL API.
  • Unified management: Manage resources across all supported regions through a single Wherobots Cloud interface and billing account.

Important considerations

  • Refer to Wherobots Pricing for details about pricing and Spatial Unit consumption.
  • Be mindful of potential AWS data transfer costs if moving large amounts of data between ap-south-1 and other regions or services outside Wherobots.
