the Mumbai Region - Set the
region
parameter toaws-ap-south-1
when using the Job Runs REST API. - Set the
region
parameter toRegion.AWS_AP_SOUTH_1
when using the Spatial SQL API.
Benefits of using ap-south-1¶
Choosing the AWS ap-south-1
region can provide significant advantages depending on your needs:
- Lower latency: Deploy Wherobots resources closer to your users, data sources, or application endpoints in India and South Asia.
- Architectural flexibility: Enables building geographically distributed applications by co-locating Wherobots components with your infrastructure or user base concentrated in South Asia.
Key features¶
- Region selection: Select
ap-south-1
as the deployment region for Job Runs, Notebooks, Airflow Operators, and the Spatial SQL API. - Unified management: Manage resources across all supported regions through a single Wherobots Cloud interface and billing account.
Important considerations¶
- Refer to Wherobots Pricing for details about pricing and Spatial Unit consumption.
- Be mindful of potential AWS data transfer costs if moving large amounts of data between
ap-south-1
and other regions or services outside Wherobots.
