# ST_EqualsExact (Python)

> Check whether two geometries have the same structure and coordinate ordering within a tolerance.

Check whether two geometries have the same structure and coordinate ordering
within a tolerance.

The comparison uses x and y coordinates. Z and M coordinates are ignored.

SQL reference: [`ST_EqualsExact`](/reference/wherobots-db/geometry-data/predicates/ST_EqualsExact)

## Signature

```python theme={"system"}
from sedona.spark.sql.st_predicates import ST_EqualsExact
ST_EqualsExact(
    a: ColumnOrName,
    b: ColumnOrName,
    tolerance: Union[ColumnOrName, float, int],
) -> Column
```

## Parameters

<ParamField path="a" type="ColumnOrName" required>
  One geometry column to check.
</ParamField>

<ParamField path="b" type="ColumnOrName" required>
  Other geometry column to check.
</ParamField>

<ParamField path="tolerance" type="Union[ColumnOrName, float, int]" required>
  Maximum distance allowed between corresponding coordinates.
</ParamField>

## Returns

<ResponseField name="return" type="Column">
  True if a and b are exactly equal within tolerance, otherwise False.
</ResponseField>
