# ST_Contains (Python)

> Check whether a contains b.

Check whether a contains b. Polymorphic over input type: Geometry/Geometry (JTS),
Geography/Geography (S2), Box2D/Box2D (closed-interval bbox containment, PostGIS `~`),
and Box3D/Box3D (closed-interval bbox containment on all three axes).

ST_Contains(a: ColumnOrName, b: ColumnOrName) -> Column

## Parameters

  Geometry column to check containment of.
</ParamField>
