# ST_SubDivideExplode (Python)

> Same as ST_SubDivide except also explode the generated array into multiple rows.

## Signature

ST_SubDivideExplode(
    geometry: ColumnOrName,
    max_vertices: Union[ColumnOrName, int],
) -> Column
```

## Parameters

  Geometry column to subdivide.
</ParamField>

<ParamField path="max_vertices" type="Union[ColumnOrName, int]" required>
  Maximum number of vertices to have in each subdivision.
</ParamField>

## Returns

  Individual geometries exploded from the returned array of ST\_SubDivide.
