# ST_Extent (Python)

> Aggregate Function: Get the bounding box (Box2D) of a geometry column.

Aggregate Function: Get the bounding box (Box2D) of a geometry column.

Returns NULL when the input contains no rows or all rows are null/empty
geometries. Mirrors PostGIS ST\_Extent.

## Signature

from sedona.spark.sql.st_aggregates import ST_Extent

ST_Extent(geometry: ColumnOrName) -> Column
```

## Parameters

  Geometry column to aggregate.
</ParamField>

## Returns

<ResponseField name="return" type="Column">
  Box2D representing the union of bounding boxes of the geometry column.
</ResponseField>
