# GeoSeries.voronoi_polygons

> Return Voronoi diagram of the vertices of each geometry.

Return Voronoi diagram of the vertices of each geometry.

<Note>
  Unlike geopandas, which collects all vertices across the entire GeoSeries and computes a single Voronoi diagram, Sedona computes the diagram **per row**. Each input geometry produces one `GeometryCollection` containing its Voronoi polygons. The output GeoSeries has the same length as the input.
</Note>

## Signature

```python theme={"system"}
voronoi_polygons(tolerance=0.0, extend_to=None, only_edges=False)
```

## Parameters

<ParamField path="tolerance" type="float" default="0.0">
  Snapping tolerance for vertices to be considered equal.
</ParamField>

<ParamField path="extend_to" type="Geometry" default="None">
  A local geometry whose envelope enlarges the default extent of
  every row's Voronoi diagram. Distributed and array-like extents
  are not supported.
</ParamField>

<ParamField path="only_edges" type="bool" default="False">
  Only `only_edges=False` is supported. Passing `only_edges=True`
  will raise `NotImplementedError`.
</ParamField>

## Returns

<ResponseField name="return" type="GeoSeries" />

## Examples

```python theme={"system"}
>>> from sedona.spark.geopandas import GeoSeries
>>> from shapely.geometry import MultiPoint
>>> s = GeoSeries([MultiPoint([(0, 0), (1, 0), (0.5, 1)])])
>>> s.voronoi_polygons()
0    GEOMETRYCOLLECTION (POLYGON ((-0.25 -0.5, -0....
dtype: geometry
