# GeoSeries.type

> Return the geometry type of each geometry in the GeoSeries.

Return the geometry type of each geometry in the GeoSeries.

This is an alias for `geom_type`.

## Signature

```python theme={"system"}
GeoSeries.type
```

## Returns

<ResponseField name="return" type="pandas.Series(str)" />

## Examples

>>> from sedona.spark.geopandas import GeoSeries
