# Your Organization's catalogs

> Use org_catalog or create a managed catalog backed by your own S3 storage for your Organization's tables.

Your Organization has a default managed data catalog named `org_catalog` for your tables and spatial datasets. Wherobots manages the catalog metadata, and you can read and write its tables with WherobotsDB.

## Work with your tables

Catalogs contain databases (also called namespaces), which contain tables. Reference a table as `<catalog>.<database>.<table>`.

* [Browse catalogs and table metadata](https://docs.wherobots.com/get-started/initial-storage/data-hub.md) in Wherobots Cloud.
* [Query and create tables with WherobotsDB](https://docs.wherobots.com/develop/spatial-catalog/spatial-catalog.md).
* [Create views](https://docs.wherobots.com/tutorials/spatial-catalog/views.md) to save queries over your tables.

For table formats, spatial column types, and upgrading existing geometry tables, see [Iceberg tables](https://docs.wherobots.com/data-engineering/iceberg-tables/overview.md).

## Use your own S3 storage

You can create additional managed catalogs through an S3 storage integration. The data stays in your S3 bucket, and Wherobots manages the catalog metadata. Follow [Create a managed catalog from an S3 bucket](https://docs.wherobots.com/develop/storage-management/s3-storage-integration.md#create-a-managed-catalog-from-an-s3-bucket).

> [!NOTE]
>
> An **S3 storage integration** uses a general purpose S3 bucket for a Wherobots-managed catalog. To access tables managed by **Amazon S3 Tables** in a table bucket, [connect an external S3 Tables catalog](https://docs.wherobots.com/get-started/initial-storage/aws/connect-to-s3-tables-catalog.md).

## Use datasets provided by Wherobots

The `wherobots_open_data` and `wherobots_pro_data` catalogs contain datasets that Wherobots prepares and hosts. Browse [Wherobots open data](https://docs.wherobots.com/tutorials/spatial-catalog/introduction.md) to find datasets to use alongside your own tables.

## Access your tables from another engine

Managed catalogs expose an Iceberg REST endpoint. See [Connect external engines to Wherobots catalogs](https://docs.wherobots.com/data-engineering/catalogs/external-engines.md) for compatibility requirements and the Snowflake tutorial.
